Chalk Drawing: The Girl with a Pearl Earring
In this piece, I worked with 3 other classmates to create this chalk drawing of the famous painting, "Girl with a Pearl Earring". First, we mapped out the grid and drew the image in with white chalk in order to give ourselves a guideline to creating the piece. After, we worked on the piece every class time by slowing placing in the colors for a selected region. In these piece, my group and I made use of many darker or pale hues of chalk to re-create the famous painting. In addition, we used sponges to blend all of the colors together and to smooth out the harsh lines in the drawing. Soon enough, we completed the piece! I hope you like it!
